A Perspective on Innovative Drying Methods for Energy‐Efficient Solvent‐Based Production of Lithium‐Ion Battery Electrodes

An increasing number of production plants for lithium‐ion batteries (LIB) are being built every year to meet the global battery demand electric vehicles, mobile devices, and stationary energy storage systems. Currently, state‐of‐the‐art convective drying process employed during solvent‐based electrode is a key reason high electrical consumption LIB also requires long dryer sections with huge investment costs. The need energy, CO 2 footprint, cost reductions in has sparked interest developing innovative technologies that improve rate introduce heat more efficiently into coating. Herein, perspective possible technologies, which used other industries can be adapted production, given. Furthermore, combination inductive simultaneous double‐sided coating proposed. complementary introduction pathways may offer an advantageous approach rapid high‐efficiency drying.
